Christmas Tablescape 2018

I think simple was the theme this year. Greens, silvers, whites, and glass. It felt right. Less is more this year.

My shopping was done on a total budget. Most of the items I purchased were from Target or Michael’s (our local craft store). You may recognize some of the greenery is from Hearth and Hand, Magnolia’s Target line. I also collected cloches and candle sticks from my own collection. The white nutcrackers were painted my moi. You can see that post here if you missed it.

I’m really in love with my name tags. I bought a little tea set from Decor Steals. It is a complete ceramic set with saucers, teapot and cream and sugar. I finally found the perfect use for them! Eeek!

DIY Nutcracker Decor

I love Nutcrackers! But, some years I don’t love all the color they add to a room. I’m doing kind of a white-ish, snowy, silvery, green table and wanted sold, white nutcrackers.

No one sells white nutcracers.

But, craft stores like Michaels does sell wooden, unpainted ones! Yes! They sell large ones and little ones. You could paint them any solid color that would go with your decor. I’m imaging all the possibilities!

You will need only one can of spray paint that you can also find at the craft store. This is what I used because it’s what my craft store had for about $6.00. Again, you could use any color. How cool would a gold be?!

Turkey on the Table

I bought this little guy a few years ago and every time I set him out in November I know he is going to feel the love. My Turkey on the Table is a little piece of decor that has an actual, important job – to display people & things we are grateful for. This little guy allows you write things that you are grateful for on his wings. When you run out of the pretty cardboard paper wings that come in the box you can just use your own construction paper. It’s become a great part of our Thanksgiving tradition.

Right now I’m thankful for this guy… Owen, you never disappoint.

I also bought a gratitude jar from Wisteria. Sadly, it is not as robust as my turkey as the glass broke in my storage closet. But, still an intentional place to write things and people you are grateful for.
