…bistro set

I love working outside in spring! Of course March is that whole lion and lamb thing so I started this set in my house. No one seemed to mind.

Just a reminder about painting colored furniture, when you go to sand you will get that original color and then the raw wood. Some people hate that original color and others think it enhances the piece. If you do not want the original color showing through then don’t sand instead you can use your dark wax to create a rubbed look. Here’s what I mean:

Also, you will notice that the chairs are straw on the seat. I taped around this. Paint color is Country Grey.

Here’s the end result.

…spindled high chair

I recently worked on this cute, spindled highchair for a client. She bought it not to use for practical purposes, but for photos. Great idea! I am not posting a before picture because the difference does not read well. It was a shiny, white paint similar to what would be on a newer piece of furniture bought from a store. It had little personality.

Here’s how it turned out:

I agree! Great in photos!

…spring work

Hey!

I wanted to let you all know that I will be here through the spring working. Summer will be mostly family time, but Spring is an opportunity to set the refresh button and make your home crisp and clean. So, if there are projects that you’ve been putting off and would like help refinishing your old, brown pieces send me an image and I’ll give you a quote. My turn around is 2 weeks and I work mostly with Annie Sloan, as you know.

I also have a full garage of items that I am going to be finishing up and selling at good prices so check in.

Loving you all!
