Gram’s Vintage Ceramic Trees

I was the lucky grandchild that inherited Gram’s white ceramic Christmas trees. They remind me of the hours I spent putting in the colored lights at her home and bring such delight when I put them in my own home at Christmas time.

The large and medium trees were hers. During my decorating travels I found these same trees being sold at Michael’s along with replacement colored lights for $3.

Then I went over to Target and found the two little trees you see below. Dear Husband always knew they were special to me, but on a whim he decided to Google them to see if they had any value these days since they seem to be making a comeback.

“One vintage tree recently sold for $79 on eBay, another for $440, and another for a remarkable $649.” – Today.com

I will never sell, but I am glad they are valued.

Budget Holiday Window Wreaths

I feel like every store is selling an array of the same holiday decor. It’s hard to sift through the good stuff, the bad stuff, the expensive stuff, and the budget stuff. As a girl on a budget this year, I’ve been hunting out items that look good, but don’t cost a ridiculous amount. A good example of this was the holiday wreaths that I wanted to put on the windows of my home this year. It’s such a cozy, New England type of style like the Pinterest image below.

$8 wreaths at Michaels! Sometimes on sale for $4!
Velvet Ribbons via Amazon found here. I just cut the bottom to make it look at tad more fancy.
These metal command strips are my best friends during holiday decorating.
I think they look pretty good for about $10 a wreath. I’m satisfied.
PS – I made a FB Group Page if you’d like to share your home decor! xo

Christmas Tablescape 2018

I think simple was the theme this year. Greens, silvers, whites, and glass. It felt right. Less is more this year.

My shopping was done on a total budget. Most of the items I purchased were from Target or Michael’s (our local craft store). You may recognize some of the greenery is from Hearth and Hand, Magnolia’s Target line. I also collected cloches and candle sticks from my own collection. The white nutcrackers were painted my moi. You can see that post here if you missed it.

I’m really in love with my name tags. I bought a little tea set from Decor Steals. It is a complete ceramic set with saucers, teapot and cream and sugar. I finally found the perfect use for them! Eeek!
