I found this sweet secretary at an estate sale. I always look for pieces that have detail because chalk paint loves to show off in these nooks.
(Okay, this is not a picture of it at the beginning-beginning. I rushed to put an undercoat on. You get the idea. Ugly. Brown. Blah.)
Here is what it became. You may recognize it as one of the pieces that I brought for the demo at The Home Show.
I hunt for secretary’s all the time because they are just a beautiful bit of nostalgia and also practical for our laptops!
I seriously do not pay Ollie & Owen to pose.
I love painting the interior a different color for a little surprise.
No, there is no candy in that mason jar, Boy.
I said goodbye to The Pippa last Friday when it went to the home of a local teacher. She and her husband just bought their first home & had just started the decorating process. So thrilled I could be a part of their story.
Beautiful! ~ Vanessa
Very nice, Christen! I love that little secretary…. I’m sure “her” new owners will too!
