…favorite things friday – reclaimed teak stool

August 16, 2013 by christen | 3 Comments

I don’t know about you, but I never have enough seating in the kitchen. Of course, it’s the place where everyone gathers, drinks, eats, chats, etc. It’s the warmest place in the home.

Small Room Design

I’m constantly changing things around in my home because I love to find new treasures! I used to move my furniture in my room growing up very single weekend to get a different look. One thing that I always am on the look out for is a great stool. Found this super cute one from Jayson Home. It’s not too big and you can pull it out of the way for the quieter weekdays.

Your kitchen is gorgeous and very similar to ours. I love your little hanging cutting board and the teal plates arranged above the stove. I am also on the hunt for new stools. I’m looking for backless stools that have an some nice lines. I’m still deciding what colour to paint them.

Beautiful!! Ok question-I am thinking about undertaking the big task of chalk painting my kitchen cabinets and island! I do not like my kitchen cabinets and want a white kitchen. Have you ever painted kitchen cabinets? I worry about the durability -will chalk paint stand up to the wear and tear of a family of 5 puts on kitchen cabinets? Also-what Annie Sloan color would you use to achieve a beautiful white kitchen (much like yours)? Pure white seems to too stark to me and I worry that Old White might be too creamy with yellowy undertone? Do I combine the two-pure white and old white??? Ok-not just one question but several. Although this is such a big job I am just trying to do all my investigating before I decide! Who better to ask than you-my chalk paint mentor!! 🙂 Thank you in advance for your help and time! Keep doing what you do-you’re awesome!

We are in the process of creating a kitchen at the moment and I just love the style of yours. The lantern above your kitchen island is gorgeous – so colonial! I would love one like it. Thank you for all your inspirational blogs 🙂
