A Few Cozy Things

February 2, 2022 by christen | 2 Comments

Hi Loves. How is everyone holding up? If your answer is something like “not too great,” then you are not alone! Did you know that? Did you know that Dear Therapist tells me every week that things are just down right hard for everyone right now. COVID, January, kids in and out of school, colds and overall blah feeling. Well, I say blah, but I have also had a few weeks of feeling very depressed.

When I’m depressed I turn inwards big time. And I have actually found a few home and personal items that have helped me just a tad.

I thought I’d share in the hopes that something little and tangible may help you all too.

First up, this amazingly soft and cozy and perfect duvet cover. Please tell me you use a puff and duvet cover. If not, look into it because it will change your sleep.

Percale Parachute Duvet

I have tried Brooklinen (buttons pulled over in a matter of weeks), Pottery Barn (wears out), Overstock and now I’m onto Parachute. So far, it is the most luxurious.

I don’t mind spending a more on something that will last. It’s a luxury, but I’m in my bed a lot! I think it’s worth a try. We are loving it!

Have you read Starving, my memoir yet? If so, would you be willing to write a kind, 5-star review? They matter big time. Thx. xoxoxo

Kristen, that looks so cozy! Your therapist is right though; for those of us in a colder climate, January and February can be tough without a lot of sunlight. Could you tell me where you found a perfect comforter and pillow? I have been wasting money on these items for 2 years now and cannot find ones that are comfortable. Sleep is an issue for me, it’s one area in which I will splurge on if it will help. Your book looks amazing and hopefully someday I will be able to read it. I’m making so much progress with my own issues, reading it would bring me back to where I started. I have been following you since your first YouTube painting videos. You are such a wonderful and talented person. Thank you for your honesty and candidness in regards to the struggles and obstacles you’re had to endure. Healing involves so much work and often does not come soon enough (or maybe we haven’t gotten there yet). One day at a time…

    Hello Sweet KMD.
First let me offer a big hug to you for doing the work. It is so hard, but to know that you are working through “issues” means that you are going through and not around them. This also means you will make it to the other side, Friend! There is hope. Thank you for watching my little videos. They have been fun to make.

So. Bedding. The puff/insert is from Overstock. I just picked one that got good reviews and had alot of filling. You don’t want a flat little guy. Then I bought the Parachute duvet cover and it came w/ the pillow cases. My pillows are from Brooklinen and I LOVE them.

Thank you for your sweet note. Keep moving forward. xo
