…cathy’s console

April 13, 2015 by christen | 7 Comments

You may remember this beautiful console that I posted for sale raw. Raw, meaning it’s wood and you get to choose your own custom color. I had many inquiries and sold it to my sweet client, Cathy.

Here is the before:

Ewwww, look at that ice! Brings back bad memories.

I love how the piece turned out in the Country Grey that she ordered.

When trying to get an aged look do not paint the crevices! Leave them in the natural wood color.

Got great hardware? Leave it alone! Got lots of detail? Don’t paint it all if you want an old look.

I love seeing vintage buffets repainted. However, the before that you posted is not the same piece that you are displaying as the after. Still beautiful though.

Oops, both are beautiful pieces, but don’t come close to being one and the same unless you really worked your magic! I would really love to see how the top sideboard came out.

The finished piece is beautiful, but I’m a bit confused. It looks very different from the before piece. If it is the same, please share the clever techniques you used to transform this. Stunning though, as always.

Love Love Love Country Grey Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan! It’s absolutely gorgeous and I use it a ton! Great for bedroom furniture, too!

    Hugs to you, Christen!

Hi…it is a lovely piece finished in country gray….you did a lot of other work on it before painting? changing the drawer fronts and the legs…you really are talented, Christen! Love what you do…it is all so beautiful.

Christen, I love the finished buffet. I use a lot of Old White and French Linen but I’m going to give Country Grey a try. I’m wondering if the before picture is of a different buffet; it looks too different from the finished piece.

Gosh am I confused with the two different sideboards. I hope you just wanted us to imagine the unpainted sideboard is going to look like.
