Maybe we should talk about the big elephant in the room and by elephant I mean Christmas. I have to admit that my practical side gets in the way when decorating for Christams. I just don’t want to spend a ton of money on items that I’m going going to use for a month and then put in a closet the rest of the year. I also really don’t like putting the accessories that I love to look at like my old books away to make room for a green or red tree cone that sheds sparkles or whatever that confetti stuff is called. Truth be told, I’m also not a big fan of red. In anything. Bah Humbug.
There are a few things that I will cave for and that is candles, pinecones and birds.
I saw this idea on Pintrest. English antique ironstone with Christmas tree branches inside. Pincones in a line. Elf on the Shelf.
A window box filled with a tall pine topiary. Tempted to leave it up all year.
Hurricanes filled with tree clippings and ornaments that Ollie & Owen have knocked to the ground.
Felt birds & more felt birds.
Oh and a few of these bundled stacking doll women. Red, I know, but I had to make the exception because they were too cute at Target.
Ollie doesn’t really match either, but he’s a keeper. And no, he is not allowed to snooze on the table.
