Long story short……life falling apart…..need a diversion……never been creative……stumble across you on youtube…..buy some ASCP…..find my smile again!
I have you to thank, dear friend, and I’ve never even met you. Watching your tutorials gave me the confidence I needed to try out a new hobby, and I’ve learned to find joy in life again. It’s not just the paint, or the furniture….It’s the joy that I thank you for. I know you are hurting now, and I wish there was more I could do for you than pray. I hope you know deep in your heart that you have made a difference in my life. I’ll never meet you, but I can honestly say that I love you. I hope this makes you smile today! You are doing a great service for others just by being you and sharing yourself with us.

I feel exactly the same, I have suffered from depression for many years. Losing many family members 1 after another only made it harder. I sought counselling and was advised to do more things that make me happy. I didn’t know what made me happy?? then I decided to start painting some furniture but wasn’t sure how to do it but knew I wanted to use Annie Sloan paint, so after some research I found your videos on you tube. I have never looked back, I love painting & you taught me everything I know 🙂 I am always happy when I have a paint brush in my hand, covered in Annie Sloan paint. Thank you, sending love from a little island called the UK 🙂 xx

We are so worried about your health and we do appreciate your effort to show us how to experience painting furniture with the use of ASCP. Most of us were probably afraid to start with this paint due to some earlier experience which was rather depressing 🙂 but with you things are different! God bless you, Christen!

I need the courage to do all mt furniture with chalk paint. I did a died table and picture frame and they came out lovely. The picture frame houses. “Keep calm and carry on” which was the mantra when mom was in a coma and died. It reigns in the loo, to always remind us to carry on after her!

Christen, Like several others I just happened upon your blog researching AS paints. What a refreshing surprise to find your tutorials. I then went back and read all the older posts that helped me understand your present medical condition. I am finding myself thinking about you and praying for your situation. Isn’t amazing how the Internet can bring strangers together and all because we are all looking to create beautiful things for our world. You are refreshing and unassuming and that is so appealing. I saw the word depression but must have missed the original post. I have suffered depression for 22 years and it just started practically overnight. I took the easy way out and took meds because I had and have a wonderful life. Married for 31 years and have twin boys in College. Went to my Doctor one day for my refills and ask the Doctor ” With a great career, great marriage, great Mom,Dad,Brother and Sisters how in the World could I be depressed ” Well he explained that I suffered from the lack of Serotonin which is clinical depression. Anyhow every 5 years or so I have to change around my Meds. Not too many years ago my Doctor was treating a Surgeon and he was getting electric shock therapy. Why am I sharing this is because 22 years later I am still taking my meds but I did survive a very misunderstood disease. Oh I also paint and distress furniture also with my Wife. LOL
