…dining furniture

May 6, 2014 by christen | 6 Comments

Here is a set that I just finished up for a client. Country Grey is a great color for any room and it’s one that I often recommend. It is NOT a grey so don’t be confused by the name. It is more of a beige and it light enough for an entry, family room or bedroom and classy enough for a dining room.

It started out as your typical dining set – dark, shiny wood. IMG_8963 IMG_8962

Does it look familiar to some of you?

Chairs require alot of attention. Especially ones with so much detail.

There was also a large china cabinet with the set. It such a great transformation from something dark and dated into a set that is storied and aged.

Looking good! Don’t you hate doing chairs? They drive me crazy but so worth it.

Beautiful transformation! I have a similar set, however a bit more formal. I did my chairs over in french linen and love them. I cant seem to pull the plug on the rest of the set though. My table is in great condition as I always use pads with it. Was thinking of just doing the lip and pedestals. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Those look great! Did you have to prime first or just paint directly?

Did you do a special finish on the table top or just wax? Also clear wax or both clear and dark wax? Looks great? I have my Grandmother’s set which is very old, really want to paint it, this colour looks nice!
