…favorite things friday – apple crates

March 7, 2014 by christen | 5 Comments

I actually almost considered keeping this little gem to myself. Or at least ordering a bunch before posting! These are “found”, rustic vintage apple crates!

They are from West Elm and are $34 each! What?! Oh, and free shipping. What?! What a cozy spot for books and toys and pillows and magazines.

I posted a great image a few weeks ago of a shelf made from old crates.

It has been really fun to see my recommendations selling out products and also being ordered by my readers all across the globe!

Marker Miller Orchard in Winchester has tons of Apple crates – some with writing, some not. They have a huge barn where they are on display. I bought several a couple of years ago for like $15/each.

These are so vintage chic. I saw someone mix up 4 together and use as a coffee table. Looked great.

How did you attach the bird prints to the glass in the rustic, shabby frames? Love them…

What goes around comes around. I had orange crate shelves in the seventies. Still have several that I store my record albums in (yes, I still play LPs). Love them even if the rough wood is a dust catcher.
