If you know me at all, you know that my favorite drink on a school night and weekend night or any night is Proscecco!
Prosecco is an Italian white wine — generally a Dry or Extra Dry sparkling wine[1] — normally made from Glera (“Prosecco”) grapes.
Also known as a cheaper substitute for champagne and I’ve found there’s no need to have a celebration to order it by the glass at a restaurant.
I have to admit that one night I got a bit snarky with my DH when we did not have any in stock. He went out the next night and surprised me with “Cupcake” Prosecco by way of Harris Teeter. He knows me so well because Prosecco does taste better when labeled cupcake.
And it may just be in my head, but it tastes just a tad sweeter, but still with that dry fizz that makes you want to have just one more to celebrate a Monday end-of-the-day-kids-in-bed. It may not be a dozen of Barfoot Contessa‘s Chocolate Ganache Cupcakes, but it’s sure close!
Cheers to Friday!
