…favorite things friday: solid colored throw

July 12, 2013 by christen | 5 Comments

Why is a throw important? Fashion & function.

Yes, you may get a bit chilly laying on the couch on a Monday night watching the Bachelorette with your DH (sorry to throw you under the bus, My Love) and need a cozy blanket. But, a throw is also a inexpensive way for some continuity in your color choices in your space. You could pull a color from your pillows or upholstry to tie it all in.

I’ve had a few people ask where I found my duck egg cable knit throw and it seems they are back in stock at PB. You know the summer season is halfway over when retailers start showing off their fall collection.

The Blue Smoke is probably the closest color to my own. Incidentally Blue Smoke is also the color of my dupliani curtain panels in my living room & dining room.

If you have a color in your space that you want to highlight add a SOLID COLORED throw over a couch or chair. You eye will be drawn to it. Make it a color that you love to see every morning and before bed. You can see my favorite duck egg all over my house & work.

    Hey Christen,

I love throws/afghans. Had them growing up, just never thought about how to use them properly. Never would have thought about solid colors. Thanks for the interior designer advice!

Would you tell me about the blue picture on your wall? I really like it.

    Thanks,
    Pam

Could you tell me where your rug under your dining room table came from. You may have already answered that sometime, I just can’t find it anywhere. It’s beautiful!
    Thanks!

Can you tell us the wall color you used here? And also, I second the rug comment. I love it and would like to know where it was purchased.

    Thank you,
    Katie
