Let’s talk about trunks, Baby.
Some of you may have seen a recent Instagram post about my old suitcases that I stacked to make a mock side table. Whenever I go to a vintage shop I can’t help gravitating towards trunks and old boxes. I think because they are super interesting, but also functional.
If you can’t make it to a market or antique shop, there are so many great options out there now to do this very thing. Here are some examples.
PS – you don’t need to stack the suitcases, you could place once on a foyer table or under a couch or ahem, pew.
Christen, we recently cleared out my father and mother in laws home now that they are passed away and I found an old very cool looking vintage Samsonite suitcase that belong to my father in law , he carried in back in the forties when he traveled in his Army days. It’s in terrific condition minus the interior lining. Outer part looks to be some type of leather? I want to paint it..maybe but need to clean it first. Can you recommend something safe to use that won’t harm it, and any ideas what I can do with the old lining? I wish I had a photo of it, but it’s in Louisana still in the back room. I will pick it up next month. Any advise or pictures of examples of restored ones would help! I so don’t want to ruin it!
