I am trying to bump up my readership on my author page, christenbensten.com . It’s basically a newsletter about my books, what I’m reading and anything else I find interesting in the book world!

This Friday I am going to do a giveaway. I will send you a free copy of my memoir, Starving, if you subscribe to my author site here. Then, go to my Facebook author page and let me know you’ve signed up by posting that you’ve signed up. I will collect your contact information and mail you a book (For this giveaway I can only do US residents).
Why am I doing this?
Well, I feel strongly about getting the message of my memoir out into the world so people who have struggled with their family of origin, experienced childhood trauma and are trying to live a peaceful life will know that they are not alone. I want you to know that you can come out on the other side stronger. And guess what, God wants you to be at peace. He doesn’t want you to stay in bondage. Breaking free from toxic family members is not cruel – you are actually just choosing you instead of them. And if they’ve hurt you for years and years or your entire life then guess what – you deserve to be free. Choose yourself instead of living a miserable life under the confines of someone that is hurting you and cause distress. There is peace for you.
Secondly, I love to connect with other readers. I also love this writing thing – always have. I am writing a suspense, thriller series and would love to share it with you when it comes out.

Hi Christen, I read your book Starving last summer and was totally engrossed in your story. I would consider it a page-turner. Although you went through tough times, thankful you are an over-comer (through Jesus). Can’t wait for your next book. Thanks for sharing your experience.
