…giving in to ikat

I’m not one to spend alot of money on trends because they change too quickly for me to invest in. I wasn’t sure what was going to come from this whole Ikat print. But, when I decided I wanted a round ottoman with a print to pull in all the colors in my living room, I just couldn’t  resist this turquoise ikat print.

Ikat, or Ikkat, is a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres (Wikipedia)

I’m a sucker for most things turquoise, but this print had a purpose – pulling in the color of the curtains, pillows, couch & wingbacks.

My advice when picking out an Ikat print would be find a color/s that you love.

I think it works. Yea?

  1. Hi, love your ottoman! Can you tell me where you bought it? Thanks!
