It is with a heavy heart that I share that I will not be doing the Luckett’s Spring Market this year.
I am very sad about it.
The Spring Market has been such a highlight for Blue Egg Brown Nest. It is a time where I feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself. I am surrounded by other antique dealers & painters & women that are doing the same thing that I am. It has been a chance to meet many of my readers and sell my pieces.
This has been a very difficult year for me. As you know, I had a terrible fall early December breaking a rib, fracturing my scapula, getting staples in my head and a concussion from hell. After all the bruises healed, the intense headache and dizziness from the concussion lasted for three, very long months. It was during this time that I let Luckett’s know that I was not going to be able to prepare for the show. It was the right decision. I could not have done all the work that it takes, but still disappointing for me.
I’m still debating whether or not to go. I LOVE shopping myself, but I also don’t want to feel sad about not being a part of the action. I still have a few months to decide.

I think that is the right decision, Christen. After your fall and injuries, you are still healing. I too have suffered a concussion and the healing goes on for a long time. The bruises may not be visible but your body is still recovering. Luckett’s is a huge undertaking. I’m sure you are disappointed but, as you said, if you are up to the shopping – go!
And next year, you’ll be even stronger and more prepared!
Just go for the browsing and shopping ~ just enjoy it and relax. You have been thru way too much this year… and add 3 kids on top of that! You deserve a break. You’ll get some new, fantastic ideas, I’m sure. It’ll be worth it to take it slow. Let us all know what you discover on the other side of the tent!
Hi. I’m so sorry your going to miss out on participating this year. It would be great if you could attend as a customer to support, and encourage those like yourself that work so hard to make this event a true success. If you do id love to see a post on it filled with pictures! I live too far to attend 🙁
Blessings,
Aimee
I just found your YT video-tutorials on Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint. (The antique dresser) Your bright beautiful energy really inspired me to transform a few pieces in my home. I just ordered Annie’s book, Color Recipes and am in the midst of ordering chalk paint from a shop in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you so much!!!
Oh yes, allow your physical body to heal properly; no pushing forward in the “doing department” until you get that green light. You’ll get on the other side of this – not to worry. Your vitality will return 100%. I don’t know why some things happen in life . . but I am sure that all things work together for the good.
Thank you again for your generous tutorials. They are the absolute best. Will share with pals!!
