Oh Dear Friends! I’ve missed you and cannot thank you enough for your sincere care & support. I am still a bit sore, but out of bed & driving again! A day has a different quality to it after not being in one for a time. I promise to recap all, including a dirty, little secret from Restoration Hardware.
Onto something a bit more fun that happened yesterday. As I’ve mentioned, I really have never decorated for Christmas in my house before for a number of reasons. The main one being that I have collected some interested things to look at that make me happen and I don’t want to hide them away for a month! I’m also not too fond of the color red. BUT, this year I did a bit more entertaining and got caught up in it all. And Lord knows when I get a bee in my bonnet it does not stop flying around up there until I’m satisfied with the results.
Well, I was and that’s when I got in touch with the lovely Charlotte Safavi, the stylist and writer that did the Cottage Style Magazine spread for Blue Egg Brown Nest last year as well as the one in The Examiner. Here’s one of Helen Norman’s beautiful shots from the magazine shoot.
Here’s The Examiner.
As an editor, writer & stylist for many design magazines, she knew of a few places a Christmas scene would work and we decided on a photoshoot that happened yesterday with some really fun photogs.
Per usual, my kids are totally used to things being rearranged and new pieces coming in and out. Here they are before camp ignoring it all.
OH! And those are my newly recovered chairs. What do you think of the fabric? I wasn’t sure at first, but now kinda in love. More soon.
I always end up taking photos of the camera equipment because, well, there’s so much of it! and it’s pretty cool.
Here is the lovely Charlotte, herself. We could have been doing a photoshoot or sitting down to a cup of tea together chatting. She’s just that wonderful.
Since it is a Christmas shoot, you won’t see it on your store shelf until next Christmas.
PS – If you have not seen the recent mini series “The Bible”, you must. I watched it while recuperating and fell in love with Jesus all over again. He is just the BEST. I was reminded that little else matters besides showing & feeling love. We can all do love, can’t we? At least we can all try our very best in this broken world, right? Let’s all try just once more today.
So glad to hear you are feeling better! Your home looks phenomenal. Truly.
Dearest Christen,
My Christmas will be better knowing that you are healing well. I am praying for you and wishing you all the best of Christ this Christmas. He loves you dearly, as I’m sure you have felt recently, and never leaves your side. xoxo

So glad you are feeling better. Your circumstances remind me that God always finds good for us even when bad things happen. He allowed your injury to slow you down to heal you and draw you closer. So sorry that it was painful in the process, but so happy you have found love anew with Jesus. God bless you and yours. Merry Christmas
Glad you are feeling better, I have been missing your posts, can you please let us know where you got your zebra rug?
