Sasha is a dear, repeat client and recently brought over a lovely, but brown bedroom set that she wanted to refresh.
Nothing wrong with the wood look, but if you want something lighter, breezier & fresh TG for chalk paint. Here are some before images:
Love a cute bombay chest.
She chose Country Grey, which is often the bedroom color that I recommend.
If I’m using Country Grey on a dresser like this, I tend to go very light on dark wax. It just does not need it and would look muddy if done too heavily.
If there is a carved design in a piece I tend to NOT fill in the crevices with paint in order to preserve the aged look.
A piece like this with beautiful detail really does not need too many coats of paint.
I’m finishing up a short tutorial on painting metal hardware per your request! Should be up by end of the week.
Very lovely pieces! And thank you, Christen, for the great photography! I learn so much from studying your work…and close ups are so helpful! 🙂
Love the way these came out! Thanks for sharing! I watched your videos last week and painted my first piece on Saturday. I love it! I’ve been wanting to try this for quite a while and when I stumbled on your youtube videos I had the confidence to give it a try. Thank you so much for taking the time to describe in detail how to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!
