I guess this chapter is more Renovating a House. Our first home. We will get the the Building a House soon.
I’ve been showing you all the downstairs and this was a big part of it, at least for my DH. He needed a flatscreen in the wall and to appease me he gave me custom bookshelves.
He hand-built the shelves and cabinet doors hiding all those God-awful black boxes and wires. He also trimmed it all out. Yes, he’s a keeper 🙂
More painting. Ha – look at the Herndon Hornets t-shirt!
A crazy, complex remote that DH bought who knows where. I never learned to use it.
Lights & carpet!
Then I got it in my head that doing horizontal stripes would be a good idea. This was at the height of all those DIY shows and was the thing to do. I had to try it out. I think it was 4 months later I painted over the whole thing. The best thing about being an adult is that we can change our mind.
Meanwhile – while the paint downstairs was drying on the wall, DH got it in his head to build a shed for his tools.
Did I mention he wanted to attach the shed to his parent’s former jacuzzi? Oh my. I go on record saying this was a bad idea.
Question for Brent-the-Builder?
