…vintage china cabinet

June 22, 2015 by christen | 7 Comments

I finished working on a beautiful vintage cabinet sold to me by one of our beloved preschool teachers.

This is what it looked like when it arrived at my house this winter.

When you work with a cabinet with aged glass and an inlay like this you need to be careful. The glass and delicate wood inlay is very fragile and can break easily. You also must take it out to make sure you paint the side that will be seen.

The exterior is done in French Linen and the interior is Country Grey.

Here is the after:

The piece is in excellent condition with 2 shelves and original hardware. I can imagine it in most any room in a home – foyer, bedroom, dining room, living room, family room. It just needs to get filled with the appropriate room’s accessories.

    love, love, love this!
I have an old armoire, nothing historical. We purchased about 18 years ago from an unfinished furniture store. These colors would look beautiful! What did you use on the inside?

It looked much better before! You took away from the original character of this fine vintage piece of furniture.
