Before I get to the party, just a dose of reality in my inbox this morning. A lovely email from Heather at Luckett’s confirming that I will be in THE FIELD OF GOLD as I was last year & that “many people come to the fair because of Blue Egg Brown Nest” (what a lovely thing to hear!) and the next email from a You Tube viewer saying I talk to much. I guess it’s all about what you let in- the good or the bad, right? Sigh. Good thing I have therapy today.
Congrats to Selep Imagining for winning the party last week! Your work is just beautiful and remind me of my Gram. Check out her beautiful, vintage-looking needlework! http://jeanneselep.blogspot.com/2013/05/spring-needlework.html
Here’s your chance to show us all what you are working on and/or the vintage love happening in your home! I want to see your creative ideas, rooms and pieces!
Here are the rules:
1. Please post a picture of your painted piece of furniture, vintage home decor accessory or interior.
2. Post a permalink (the link to the post), not the link to your blog.
3. Contest ends Friday morning at 12:00 a.m. I will post my fav next week.
I’ve been painting furniture for a long time, but only recently tried ASCP. I was inspired to try it after watching one of your YouTube videos. I had it playing while I was sewing, so you kind of kept me company. It was very informative, and helped me feel like I had a “friend” coaching me through the painting process. Thanks for being inspiring!
Isn’t the point of a you tube video to talk and explain what you are doing? Such a silly viewer.
Can’t wait to see your booth this year. I will be in the Field of Dreams with mine. Best wishes as you prepare!
Marian
I share the criticisms on talking too much with you! When it is something you are so passionate about it is hard for comments to not hurt your feelings. 🙁 BUT, I then get a comment from someone who has searched high and low for the information and is happy for the detailed info. 🙂 Your work is lovely.
No one wins on YouTube. But I agree with Cindy that if you barely talked at all and just jumped right in you would have a million questions. Why do you do it that why? Why that brush? Where do I get that steel wool? How much do I use? So better to be thorough! Love your furniture!
Christen,
I LOVE seeing your dog walk in front of the camera and your cats everywhere! Seeing your children and husband (hanging the doors) makes you real (most of us will not get to meet you in person, bummer)!! Do NOT listen to anyone who criticizes you! And, you do not talk too much! One of the first things I do in the morning after I make breakfast, make lunches, and take my children to school, is read your blog! Keep it up!
Pam
I love your videos so much so that I posted a hyperlink in one of my articles to them! Dumb, eh, directing people from my blog to your videos? 🙂
I’ve learned so much from them that I wanted all who are new to this DIY process to have the benefit of your generosity. I’m a slow learner and had to watch them a few times as I practice my technique. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them…
Robin
Would you please share your exterior house paint colors?
Thanks
